Professional Bio

 Raymond Mejia is a first year undergraduate student at California State University, Northridge. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. He has lived in Koreatown for his entire life. He strives to get a degree in computer science and go into the filed of cybersecurity. He has participated in the CyberPatriot competition for 3 years and has been in the highest division for all of that time. Raymond has experience working with the languages Java, JavaScript, Python, cmd, power shell, html. He has also worked on different operating systems such as Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, and Kali. During the competition Raymond was the head of the Windows division. He helps on any Windows problem and operates with the Windows virtual machine. For 3 rounds he had to work on two virtual machines at the same time and was able to get a good enough score on both to have his team keep their platinum ranking. He values team work and being able to expand his knowledge. During his 3 years competing, he was able to learn very important things in the field of computer science. Learning to read html, write scripts, and cryptology has inspired Raymond in a variety of ways. Mainly, it inspired his deep passion for cybersecurity and ethical hacking. He will continue to work towards his goal and make it a reality.

A Lesson Learned Story

 During the Covid-19 quarantine, J and A got into a fight over instagram. This all started over A causing the relationship of J to end after bullying his boyfriend. R was a close friend of both of them but always identified A as his best friend. When R saw that this was happening he was confused because two of his closest friends were in an argument. He tried not to butt in so that he wouldn't take a side but he gave A the benefit of the doubt. As this was going on the anime Attack on Titan’s newest season had just come out and this caused the complete end of A and J’s relationship. This anime caused them to get into a fight for no real reason. Around this time J was starting to come out about their sexuality and gender identity and A did not support him. A proceeded to make a series of instagram posts making fun of J for being more open about themselves. This was because A had liked J before they came out as a transgender man. R realized the obvious transphobia that was going on. It was hard for him to see a person who he considered his best friend as someone who can say and do horrible things. R stood by J’s side and cut off ties with A. J is one of R’s best friends that will always be supported by him no matter what.

Walking Song

 The song Holiday by Weezer is what I would consider my go to walking song. It is a really fun song that always puts me in a good mood. I love the positive vibe that it brings. It has some of my favorite instrumentals from Weezer and is one of my favorite songs from the blue album. It is a song that I like to put on whenever I have nothing else to listen to and it always delivers. The lyrics bring me joy as I would also love to get away and be on vacation in a distant land.
